When Do We Grow Up?

Becoming an Adult!

The other day I was driving along and noticed at the a wee boy running down the street with his dad. He was about 2 or 3 years old with a really cute wee rucksack on his back obviously coming back from playgroup. They both stopped at the side of the road waiting for me to pass.

As I drove pass his dad lead him across the road and he started to run again. As I watched for a second in my rear view mirror as this young boy ran with his arms flaying around in the air.

A huge smile broke across my face and I thought:

  • Why do I not run like that anymore?

  • Why does everyone not run like that anymore?

My achievement for the today was to change my notification sound on my phone (still had my Christmas one on). I decide "not to adult" and but a minions one on.

"BOTTOM..... HA HA HA HA HA"

Every time I get a message, email, etc... This makes me laugh and reminds me that we do not need to be adults all the time.

Sometimes we can be the small child inside that laughs at the word BOTTOM!

Easter Egg Throwing!

Oh and Happy Easter - this is not being an adult and having fun! I think we should do it more often.

Follow-Up: Well I do not think I need to go into detail about the chocolate I have eaten because it is Easter after all...... I will say one thing...BOTTOM....HA HA HA HA.

Losing Things

When You Lose Something!

This morning I spent 45 minutes tearing my house apart:

  • Emptying drawers out all over the floor
  • Pulling things out of wardrobes that have not moved in over 6 months
  • Dragging random things from random cupboards in the Kitchen, bedrooms and the hallway
  • Going through old handbags stuffed under the bed
  • Rummaging through old note books
  • Even dived around my wee car

Diving into My Wee Car - Love My Car

All just trying to find a form that I knew I had at one point and could not find. I looked in all the usual places, multiple times. (I know you have done the same thing!)

I eventually found out that the form I was looking for, it was already used and with the correct people....

The brain is an amazing thing, I kept going back to the same spot were I knew it should be....

It also took my two hours to clean up the mess I had made....

After destroying the house and before cleaning everything up, decided I needed a rest.

Follow-Up: Well what can I say - chocolate is everywhere at the moment - it is Easter after all. Lets just say I am back to my normal self.

Dreams - So real!

Dreams Are Weird!

Over the last few days I have had some really weird dreams - ok I have weird dreams all the time. However, these ones have actually felt quite real.

First dream was one of those ones were you have just fallen asleep and then you wake up within a short time later about 30 minutes.

  • Dream 1 - I had hurt my ankle and I was trying to walk and it was so painful that I did not want to put weight on it. I got a Dr to look at it and they removed a small piece of my ankle bone that had been chipped off.

  • Awake - when I woke up I felt that my ankle was sore and I did not want to put weight on it but when I touched it, it was fine. No pain, but I could feel this unusual feeling around the ankle.

Second Dream was more of a nightmare - I call them my anxiety dreams. It is were I wake up feeling like I have lived through something terrible.

  • Dream 2 - I was at my old work (in real life I was bullied) and I was asking someone to do something - instead of doing it they punched me in the face. I went to my boss and we talked. She pointed out to me that there was a common factor in all the things that had happened and that was ME.

  • Awake - I woke up thinking everything that had gone wrong in that work place was my fault and it was good that I had left because then it should be better now. This plagued me all day - but I knew deep down that it was not my fault but the felling never left me.

I ate chocolate...... What can I say it helped....

The Key to My Dreams!
I have opened up about what goes on in my mind - awake and dreaming... It can be quite scary.... and like in Harry Potter - eat chocolate it makes the feelings from the dementors fade away.

Follow-up: Back to Yoga this week - due to the amount of chocolate that was consumed. Yoga went well... just wish I did not have to look at my big ass in the mirrors when doing downward-dog.... Also passed my photography course. YEAH!

Why so Tired!

Soooooo Tired!!!!

I have slept on and off for two days now. I am physically and mentally exhausted. This is all because I was the bridesmaid at a friends wedding.

The reason my body is so sore and tired:

  1. I wore shoes that made me look amazing - but they were stilettos and I could not walk in them - however, they did give my calf's a hell of a work out.
  2. I helped set up the venue - this included putting chair covers and bows on over 80 chairs - that was a three hour work out.
  3. I was up late the night before the wedding as the bridal party including the grooms men were sorting out table setting and printing them off... We did have loads of plans for a relaxing night.
  4. Up early the morning of the wedding to go and get makeup and hair done - this was not to stressful but the nerves energy that I had was amazing - could not sit still for longer than two minutes. I had ants in my pants...
  5. The wedding was wonderful and then we had the speeches. The new trend is to have the Maid of Honor do a speech as well.... lets just say the nerves energy went through the roof...  But I did make it through without to many mistakes.
  6. There was a lot of dancing and because the bride and groom were swing dancers, that meant most of the dancing was swing.... I was exhausted but it was great fun. (I think I might have to do swing as well).
  7. Lastly we dropped the bride and groom at their hotel and by the time we got home it was after 1:00am. We were then all up at 8:00am so that we could meet and have breakfast.

OH I did forget then we went back to the venue and took down all the decorations including the 80 chair covers.

It was an amazing weekend but I do not think I will recover for another week. I am to old... my body is in a huff with me and it hurt in places that I did not know could hurt.

Weddings are amazing things they bring families together, strangers dance, people that have never met laugh and joke. I love a good wedding. And this one was a great one. Did I mention the 20 piece swing band. It rocked the whole place 1940's style.
Weddings Got to Love Them!

Follow-up: I have had chocolate hot cross buns... I LOVE THEM.... I think I have recovered and I am back to the chocoholic that I am....
I have started a new online course on Entrepreneurship.... (that is a nightmare to spell). It is going well , I think... oh there is that wee voice in my head telling me I am not good.... oh well she does shout really loudly some times. Still no results from other course - due this week. You will be the first to know how I did....

I Got Married!

Wedding Day!!!!!!!

I bet you thought that I was not going to fill you in on all the detail... Well you are partially right, I will tell you some of the details.

  • Eloping was involved
  • Kilt and fluffy wedding dress
  • Swimming pool - before and after it was 30oC (to hot for me)
  • Lots of laughing
  • A wee Elvis song and
  • And a Marilyn Manson song.

With all this in mind - I look back on the day with great memories of a very relaxing time. I even got the stage were I was getting squished into the big fluffy dress when I figured out that I had forgot to put any deodorant on, never mind have a perfume for the my special day pick out.

I think sometimes there is just to much stress for young brides to have the perfect day.... and they forget to have the perfect day with the person they love.

My Flowers!
P.S. - put my own flowers together and it cost me $30 for all the flowers... ok I am a bit of a tight ass.

Follow-up: I have been not been enjoying chocolate much since I got an infection in my large intestines... I think it may have killed of my chocolate craving bugs or at least knocked them around a bit. I have had hot chocolate but only drank half of it and did not drink the rest.... I think I a broken. I am also back to Salsa - which I love more than ever.
